Abilene Texas Chili

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 3 lb Lean ground beef 3 tb Brown sugar 1 t Thyme 1 t Salt 1 t Cumin seed 1 t Garlic powder 2 Bay leaves 1 t Cilantro 1/4 t Oregano (Mexican preferred) 1 t Cayenne pepper 2 tb Paprika 46 oz V-8 juice 1 c Onions -- chopped 16 oz Peeled tomatoes 4 c Pinto or kidney beans
Brown beef and drain fat. Add all ingredients and cover. Cook for 4 hours or so on medium.
