Red-Stewed Beef
3 pounds lean pot roast (chuck, round, rump or sirloin tip) 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup sherry 4 slices fresh Gingerroot 3 scallions 1 clove garlic 2 tablespoon brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon anise seeds 1 cup water
Place pot roast in slow cooker and add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low about 9-10 hours. Slice meat and cover with cooking sauce as it is served.
