Bruschetta (Italian Garlic Bread)

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 8 slices Italian bread -- day old preferred 2 large garlic cloves -- cut in half extra virgin olive oil salt fresh ground black pepper 16 tomato slices 8 fresh basil leaves
Toast the bread lightly and rub with garlic while still hot. Season with salt and lots of pepper, and pour enough oil on each slice to soak thoroughly.
Place two slices of tomato on each piece of bread and top with a basil leaf. Sprinkle with Parmigiano-Reggiano and serve immediately.
