Quick Apple Crisp

5 Granny Smith apples -- peeled, cored and
thinly sliced into rings
1 pkg. yellow cake mix -- (9 oz.)
2 Tbs. sugar
1 Tbs. ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter or margarine -- melted
Heat oven to 350. Cut apple slices crosswise in half. Place in
greased 9-inch
square baking pan; sprinkle with dry cake mix. In small bowl,
combine sugar and
cinnamon; sprinkle over cake mix. Drizzle with butter. Bake 30
minutes or until
topping is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
Yield: 9
servings.
Variation: Add 1/4 cup raisins, chopped nuts or rolled oats to
sugar cinnamon
mixture, if desired.
