Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers -- (14.5 oz) drained
1/2 cup water
1 cup sour cream
1 pkg taco seasoning mix -- (1.25 oz)
8 oz shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
1 pkg corn tortilla chips -- (18 oz)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and drain fat. Add the diced tomatoes with green chile peppers, water, sour cream and taco seasoning mix. Let simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. In the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking dish, play a layer of tortilla chips. Cover with a layer of the meat mixture then a layer of cheese. Repeat this process until the last layer is cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly.
