Cranberry Applesauce

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 Large Apples -- peel/core/chop 1 Cup Fresh Cranberries 1/2 Cup Sugar 1/4 Cup Water 3 Inch Cinnamon Stick 1 3 Inch Strip Lemon Zest
In a heavy saucepan, cook all the ingredients over moderate heat, stirring, for 15 minutes, or until apples are very soft. Discard the cinnamon stick and lemon zest. Force the mixture through a food mill.
Makes about 3 cups. 175 cal. per 1/2 cup
