Chocolate Snack Cake
1 cup coconut 1 cup pecanss, chopped 1 pkg. chocolate cake mix 1/2 cup butter or margarine One 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese , softened 2 cups powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Sprinkle coconut and chopped nuts in bottom of greased 9x13 pan.
Mix cake as directed and pour over coconut and nuts.
Mix together butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread over batter (this works best if the cream cheese and butter or margarine are quite soft).
Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. If 50 minutes is too long a baking time, check for doneness with a butter knife after 30 minutes. If more baking time is needed, bake in 10 minute increments, checking for doneness.
Cool cake. Lightly sprinkle with powdered sugar.
