Sand Tarts One cup of fresh sweet butter, two cups powdered loaf sugar, two eggs, well-beaten, three cups of sifted flour, pinch salt, one teaspoon baking powder. Cream butter and sugar with a wooden spoon, add eggs, and sifted dry ingredients. Mix well and set aside in a cool place for one hour. Turn out onto a floured board, roll out thin and cut into square cakes with a knife; brush tops with slightly beaten egg white. Sprinkle with cinamon sugar and press a blanched almond in the center. Place on buttered cooky tins. Bake in moderate stove, (350 F.) for ten to fifteen minutes.
