Grandmother' s Ultimate Oatmeal Cookies

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

2/3 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine -- softened
1/2 cup butter-flavored shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups quick or old-fashioned oats
1 cup raisins
2 cups chocolate chips
Heat oven to 375o, or 350o if using non-stick (black finish) baking
pan.
Combine all ingredients except flour, oats, raisins, and chocolate
chips in large bowl. Mix well. Stir in flour, oats, raisins, and
chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches
apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until
light brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet.

For super-size cookies, use an ice-cream scoop or ½ cup measuring cup
to spoon dough onto cookie sheet. The number of minutes for baking
may need to be adjusted also.
