Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
5 hard-boiled eggs -- (5 to 6)
1 lb. bulk -- fresh pork sausage
Kellogg's corn flake crumbs
Crisco shortening (regular)
1 beaten egg mix with either milk or water -- (1 to 2)
Carefully wrap each egg with sausage making sure egg is covered completely and there are no openings or cracks. Dip each covered egg into egg mixture then into corn flake crumbs. Do this twice with each egg. Deep fry in shortening, turning occasionally. (I use a large pot over a low flame on the top of the stove.) Using anything other than Crisco shortening will give the eggs a different taste. Deep fry eggs between 15 to 20 minutes, depending on size. Drain on paper towels. May be served as a main dish, hot, or as appetizers (quartered, cold).
