-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1 lb. flank steak -- (1 to 1 1/2)
1 egg
1 Tbsp. milk
garlic powder
pepper
Kellogg's corn flake crumbs
1 c. vegetable oil
Slice 1 to 1 1/2 pounds flank steak diagonally into 1/4-inch strips. Sprinkle slices (both sides) with garlic powder and pepper. Beat 1 egg with 1 tablespoon milk. Dip meat slices individually in egg mixture and coat each slice liberally in corn flake crumb mix. For best result, use plastic (bread bag), fill with crumbs and shake. Fry on medium-high range setting, preferably in a cast iron tempura pan. When frying, turn meat over one time. Remove to drain as soon as the breading on meat turns golden brown. Serve immediately.
For best effect on plate, serve with sliced tomatoes on sliced lettuce; hot steamed rice. Dip steak in tonkatsu sauce for zest.
