PS - This is a classic casserole that is a staple of Amish menus -- either
for an easy -- hearty summer supper or a winter meal.
2 pounds hamburger
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 can tomato sauce -- (16 ounce)
2 cups shredded cheese
1 cup cooked rice
Cook hamburger and drain excess grease. Mix cooked hamburger and the
rest of the ingredients together in a large casserole dish, save one cup
of cheese to spread on top. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
