Hush Puppies
3 c corn meal
2 ts baking powder
1 1/2 ts salt
1 ½ c milk
½ c water
1 egg
1 onion, fine chopped
*Beat together corn meal, baking powder, salt, milk, and water. Blend in egg and onion. Mold mixture into little cakes. (about 1 tablespoon each) and fry in 1 inch of oil until well browned. (1 ½ minute on each side). Drain on paper towel, serve hot
Yield 2 dozen
